Scarce HK-789 Lesher Referendum Dollar
1900 Lesher Referendum Dollar. HK-789, Zerbe-3, R.5 (76 to 200 known). No. 791. The Bumstead Type, Second Reverse style, lacking the line above COLO. and the scrolls adjacent the seal device. According to the authors of So-Called Dollars (2008), "approximately 500" pieces were struck by Joseph W. Lesher of Victor, Colorado in late 1900. This example shows slight signs of handling and has acquired an attractive battleship-gray patina.Auction Info
