Unusually Nice 1909 Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Gold Half Dollar
Near-Gem Prooflike, NGC
1909 Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Gold Half Dollar, MS64 Prooflike
NGC. HK-360A (although not actually a so-called dollar by
definition). Gold. Incorrectly labeled as a "SC25C" on the NGC
insert. This is technically a gold half dollar, being of the 1/2
DWT denomination. The dollar, half dollar, and quarter gold pieces
were sold for $2.50 as a set by M.E. Hart Company during the 1909
exposition in Seattle. The current near-Gem is unusually nice for
the issue, having lovely prooflike surfaces, and so designated on
the NGC insert. Worthy of a premium bid.
