Description

1946 U.N. Monetary Pattern, HK-871, MS61 NGC. Silver, 37 mm. One of only 750 examples of this so-called dollar struck in silver by Coin Associates, Inc., a company created by Abe Kosoff and Hans Schulman in 1945 for the purpose of issuing patterns of a proposed international coinage. This example displays variegated rose and electric-blue toning on both sides, although scattered hairlines are visible under the patina when inspected with a loupe.
