Description
1956 Empire Mine, Nevada City Mint So-Called Dollar MS64 Red and Brown NGC. Unlisted in Hibler-Kappen. This octagonal item should prove of interest to so-called dollar connoisseurs. Though it does not celebrate a precise anniversary, the evocative piece celebrates the history of the Empire Mine, described in small letters on the obverse as the "richest mine in California." Pleasing quality with slightly mellowed copper-orange surfaces. From The Jankovsky Collection of California Slug Facsimiles.
