Description

Extremely Covetable Near-Gem 1924 Sovereign

George V gold Sovereign 1924-SA MS64 NGC, Pretoria mint, KM21, S-4004, Hern-S338, Marsh-288 (R2). Mintage: 2,660. Boasting the second-lowest mintage in the series after the inaugural date, and a key date in the South African series as such. An utterly pleasing near-Gem specimen showcasing fields gleaming with radiant sheen, and the designs as crisp and defined as when first crafted. Perfectly encapsulating the concept of Mint State, and certainly a coin that should appeal to both South African collectors as well as specialists of the Sovereigns of the British Empire. Presently tied for the second-highest awarded grade at NGC with seven others.
