Description

Presumably Unique Copper Pattern Kroon

Orange Free State. Republic copper Pattern Kroon 1887 MS62 Brown NGC, Berlin mint, cf. KM-XPn3 (there, in silver), Hern-O4TS. 34.62 gm. By Wolfgang Lauer. Finely grained, partly reeded edge. An excessively rare 'salesman sample' Pattern predating South Africa's official Pond coinage, and one which Hern lists as a likely unique piece.
