Rare and Popular Spanish 50 Reales - "Cincuentin"

Felipe IV 50 Reales (Cincuentin) 1626A Segovia, Calico Type 58, No. 239, Cayon-6584, KM81.2, XF Details, Edge Damage NGC. Included is the original sales receipt showing the purchase of this piece in 1958 from Marshall Field & Co., in Chicago, Illinois, for $250. Bold details on both the obverse and reverse, with noticeable rim bumps on both sides. The most available of this series of huge silver issues, only 300 pieces were struck of this date with less than 20 pieces extant. All were made in an approximately three week period in July 1626 from silver supplied by a wealthy Spaniard. Very rare, and long considered one of the premier rarities of Spanish numismatics.
