Ferdinand V & Isabella I (1476-1516) gold 2 Excellentes ND, Fr-129, Cayon-2935, Cal-41, Seville, cross of 5 points above busts, MS62 NGC but this is a decidedly Choice UNC coin, boldly struck and highly lustrous on a fully round planchet with marvelous, deeply detailed portraits and complete obv legends, the rev slightly off center resulting in loss of a portion of the legend, the remainder of legend super sharp. A fantastic and truly beautiful example of this classic Spanish gold issue. Ex famous Philadelphia numismatist Henry Chapman, with his sale envelope included, noting this as a "Double Ducat."Auction Info
