Low-Mintage, First-Year Key Issue
1916 25C -- Harshly Cleaned -- NGC Details. AU. This
first-year key date had a meager production of 52,000 coins, a
remarkably low mintage for a 20th century regular issue. Examples
are always keenly-sought, in any condition. The abrasion-free
surfaces of this harshly cleaned example reveal medium to
charcoal-gray coloration accented by golden highlights.From The Collection of Donald E. Bently, sold for the benefit of the Bently Foundation.(Registry values: N2998)
