Description

    1916 Quarter Dollar, MS60
    Standing Liberty Debut

1916 25C MS60 PCGS. This important first-year Standing Liberty quarter is housed in a first-generation PCGS holder that has the incorrect coin number of 05706 which is actually the number for the 1917 Type One quarter. The strike is somewhat indistinct on this Mint State specimen. The ivory surfaces are lightly marked and show splashes of pale gold toning with ebony toning along parts of the reverse border. The PCGS Population Report shows just seven examples certified MS60, although this piece is not one of those seven coins since it has the wrong coin number. Instead, it is included as one of the 19 MS60 1917 Type One quarters in that report (12/12).(Registry values: N2998) (NGC ID# 43XR, PCGS# 5704)

    Weight: 6.25 grams
