Description

1916 Standing Liberty Quarter, MS61
First-Year Issue

1916 25C MS61 NGC. From the lowest mintage of the Standing Liberty series (only 52,000 coins), this first-year quarter provides a pleasing example of the most sought-after date in the series. Satiny luster complements an above-average strike for the issue with pleasing definition in the shield, gown lines, and eagle's feathers. The obverse displays a blush of golden toning with subtle tints of lavender at the periphery, while the reverse exhibits pale pastel fields with tinges of olive at the border. Close examination reveals no detracting abrasions. An exceptional coin for the grade level, and a fine addition to a quality Standing Liberty quarter collection.(Registry values: N2998)
