Description

Select Full Head 1916 Quarter

1916 25C MS63 Full Head PCGS. The borders exhibit a hint of tan toning, but most collectors would regard this satiny to lustrous key date representative as fully brilliant. Alertly struck, even on the date and the eagle's breast feathers. Evaluation with a lens confirms the unblemished quality of the fields and devices. The coveted 1916 is famous for its tiny emission of 52,000 pieces, released sufficiently late in the year that most folks saw their first Standing Liberty quarter in 1917. By that time, the high mintage 1917 was the predominate new issue, and those pieces were set aside by the curious in greater numbers than the elusive 1916.(Registry values: N4719)
