1916 Standing Liberty Quarter, MS63
Lovely Eye Appeal and Luster

1916 25C MS63 NGC. Finding a 1916 Standing Liberty quarter with attractive luster and surfaces can be just as difficult as finding an example with notably strong head detail. Many pieces have been cleaned or dipped, and the with such poor mint luster to begin with, the result is somewhat less than impressive on most examples. The current offering, however, is a simply lovely coin, with soft, original luster that provides a glowing backlight to the delicate lilac-gold toning that graces each side. Liberty's head is just shy of full, but the remainder of the design is unusually well-defined for the issue, with particular notice given to Liberty's knee and the leading edge of the eagle's left (facing) wing. Surface abrasions are only minor and the overall quality is high-end for the grade. An attractive piece that will satisfy even the most discerning specialist.(Registry values: N2998)
