Description

1916 Quarter, Well-Struck MS64+
A Key to the Series

1916 25C MS64+ NGC. The fully lustrous surfaces of this key-date representative display freckles of golden-gray patina over both sides. The design elements are well-struck, including the gown lines, rivets, horizontal shield lines, and the feathers on the eagle's torso. While Liberty's head is not quite full, it still exhibits relatively strong detail. In this regard it should be noted that only three percent or less of the 1916 issue are struck with Full Heads (Cline, 2007). Remarkably well preserved for the designated grade. Census: 63 in 64 (2 in 64+, 1 in 64 ★ , 1 in 64+ ★ ), 32 finer (12/14).(Registry values: N4719)
