Description

Satin-Surfaced 1916 Standing Liberty Quarter

1916 MS 60. As one of the three key dates in the Standing Liberty series and the first year of issue, the 1916 quarter is unquestionably one of the most highly sought after of all 20th century silver coins. Only 52,000 pieces were minted and uncirculated coins are very scarce and have always been high priced. Mostly brilliant, the surfaces exude a satiny sheen that is quite attractive. The reverse has a fine-grain, pebbly texture that is commonly seen on quarters struck during this era. Minimally abraded for the grade.
