Description

Uncirculated 1916 Standing Liberty Quarter

1916 MS 61 NGC. With only 52,000 pieces struck, the 1916 Standing Liberty quarter has much to commend it: rarity, a transitional year, first year of type, and a good story to explain the short duration of the design. This issue ranks among the most sought-after 20th century silver issues in all grades. This coin exhibits a muted, dove-gray finish over both sides with some darker colorations at the borders. The strike is average or better for this rare and popular quarter.
