Description

Always-Popular 1916 Standing Liberty Quarter, A Bright, Lustrous Gem

1916 25C MS65 NGC. The Philadelphia Mint produced the first Standing Liberty Quarters between December 16 and 31 of this year. The total number of 1916-dated coins delivered was just 52,000 pieces, and these were released to the public early the next year. The limited original mintage of the 1916 propelled it to instant stardom among numismatists, a position that it has retained ever since.
We are pleased to offer this Gem quality representative of the fabled 1916 Standing Liberty Quarter. Both sides are satiny in finish with swirling luster effects. Delicate golden-tan iridescence hugs the peripheries and lightens to virtual brilliance toward the centers. The strike is above average, yet not quite full, and a few small abrasions are noted over Liberty's head. A coin that is sure to elicit considerable bidder competition.
