Description

1917 Type Two Quarter, MS66+ Full Head
Sharply Struck, Early Die State

1917 25C Type Two MS66+ Full Head PCGS. The 1917 is one of the better-struck pre-1925 Type Two issues in the series, although most examples still show weakness at the date and on Liberty's temple. This piece is well defined in these areas, with full definition throughout the shield lines and rivets. Brilliant, frosty mint luster adorns each side, and only a few faint grazes on the walls beside Liberty prevent full Superb Gem classification. Higher-grade Full Head examples of this issue are rare. Population: 27 in 66+ Full Head, 30 finer (3/25).(Registry values: N1793)
