Description

1918 Quarter, MS66 Full Head
An Essentially Full Strike

1918 25C MS66 Full Head NGC. The 1918 Philadelphia issue is a well-made date in the pre-1925 Type Two portion of the series, although examples with a full strike -- not just a Full Head -- are rare. This Premium Gem Full Head coin boasts an essentially full strike. Liberty's head is needle-sharp, as are the shield lines and rivets. Her toes are also bold, and the adjacent lower wall stars show sharp definition. On the reverse, the leading edge of the eagle's left (facing) wing is well defined as well. Only the right-hand reverse border stars show minor softness, which is hardly noteworthy. Additionally, the coin lacks clash marks and is beautifully preserved, with no bothersome abrasions. A delicate hint of light champagne color graces each side. Census: 49 in 66 (5 in 66+) Full Head, 6 finer (8/25).(Registry values: N2998)
