Description
Borderline Uncirculated Series Key
1918/7-S Standing Liberty
1918/7-S 25C AU58 PCGS. FS-101, formerly FS-008.5. A whisper
of gold toning near the rims precludes full brilliance, but that
only confirms the originality of this lustrous Borderline
Uncirculated example. Remarkably unabraded except for a brief thin
line above the ER in QUARTER. A trace of wear on Liberty's knee is
all that prevents a much finer grade. The center of the head is
softly defined, as usual for this key overdate, but the remainder
of the strike is crisp. The downstroke of the 7 is apparent to the
unaided eye, and it is curious that the variety went unreported for
nearly 20 years after its production.(Registry values: N4719)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 243A, PCGS# 5726, GSID# 5571)
