Description

Very Fine Overdate Standing Liberty Quarter

1918/7-S 25C VF25 PCGS. Because of the nature of the raised numerals on Type Two quarters, circulated examples show dates that are more heavily worn than other design elements. This, of course, was corrected in 1925 by recessing the date, but on overdate quarters it is a challenge. This particular coin shows the expected faint definition on the digits in the date. And the all-important 7 underdigit is clearly present as bisects the lower loop of the 8 and eliminates two-thirds of it. The surfaces are moderately bright with a mild overlay of rose and lilac toning. Evenly worn over the remainder of the devices.(Registry values: N2998)
