Description

Popular 1918/7-S Quarter, XF40

1918/7-S 25C XF40 ANACS. Even with 20 points of wear, this piece displays several of the authenticating diagnostics visible on this popular overdate variety. Chief among them is the prominent E clash mark at Liberty's left (facing) knee, produced from the E in E PLURIBUS UNUM on the reverse. Another parallel die lines, actually clashes from the eagle's wing, that run southeast from the top left serif of the first T in TRVST. The diagonal downstroke of the 7 is clear under the 8, although wear has joined the area to the rear of the 7 with the 8. This piece has attractive pinkish-silver surfaces on both sides, with some glints of amber and ice-blue.
