Noteworthy 1918/7-S MS 64 Standing Liberty Quarter
1918/7-S MS 64 NGC. A splendidly original example with the most clearly defined overdate feature that one could ever hope to find on this classic 20th century rarity. Both sides are irregularly framed in russet toning and boast shimmering luster that is tempered only by a blush of lilac patina through the center of the obverse. As with most overdate Standing Liberty quarters, the strike is somewhat mushy on the central devices. In fact, it is this softness of detail which is the most glaring obstacle to a coveted gem rating. Population: 16 in 64, 3 finer (1/99).Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 243A, PCGS# 5726, GSID# 5571)
