Rare Almost Uncirculated Overdate Quarter
1918/7-S 25C AU 50 ANACS. 80% Full Head. Formerly sold in our Exclusively Internet Auction # 20104, where it was described as, "A lightly toned, high-grade example of this perennially popular overdate quarter. Well detailed overall, save for the tops of the digits of the date. Even though, the overdate feature is clearly visible. Overdate quarters are among the rarest coins of the 20th century as they were struck from a single pair of dies, thus drastically limiting their availability in terms of absolute numbers available. The overdate feature was not discovered until 1937, almost twenty years after the date's release into circulation."Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 243A, PCGS# 5726, GSID# 5571)
