Description
1918-D Quarter, MS66 Full Head
Beautifully Sharp CAC Registry Coin
1918-D 25C MS66 Full Head PCGS. CAC. This is easily one of
the best struck 1918-D quarters we have seen, and it resides in an
early die state with mattelike luster on both sides. Reddish-copper
toning occurs on the upper and left obverse and over the reverse of
this Premium Gem, though much lighter in hue on the latter. Most of
the design elements are better struck than ordinarily seen,
including the head, lines of the inner shield, the last four rivets
(though two are weak), the breast mail, the gown line crossing the
thigh, and the date. The eagle's breast feathers reveal the typical
weakness but have some definition. A couple of minuscule marks on
the eagle do not distract. Housed in a generation 3.0 old green
label holder. PCGS Population: 34 in 66 (3 in 66+), 4 finer (3/26).
CAC: 7 in 66, 0 finer (3/26).Ex: The Richard P. Ariagno, M.D. Collection / FUN Signature (Heritage, 1/2013), lot 4728.(Registry values: N4719)
