Description

1919 Standing Liberty Quarter, MS63
Struck 15% Off Center

1919 25C -- Struck 15% Off Center -- MS63 PCGS. This is one of three off-center 1919 Standing Liberty quarters listed in Robert H. Knauss' Standing Liberty Quarters: Varieties & Errors, all of which we have handled at one point in the past. This is the highest-graded of the three off-center pieces. Satiny stone-silver luster yields light amber-gold toning with minimal abrasions. The strike is off center toward 12:30, and the borders are distorted, as the coin was also struck out of collar. The shield rivets are well defined. The significant percentage off center of this coin's strike adds to its rarity within the entire census of off-center Standing Liberty quarters, and thus also its value.
