Description
1919-D Quarter, MS64 Full Head
Boldly Rendered and Attractive
1919-D 25C MS64 Full Head PCGS. In the context of Full Head
Standing Liberty quarters, the 1919-D is one of the more
challenging dates to acquire, comparable in overall rarity to the
1919-S and the 1926-D and -S. Only the 1927-S and the 1918/7-S
issues are significantly rarer in Mint State Full Head. The 1919-D
is also one of the more difficult dates in the series to acquire
with sharp shield rivets and bold date numerals; moreover, when a
Full Head coin is encountered, it is more often than not just
barely sharp enough to qualify for the designation. This satiny
Choice example is exceptional in all regards, including a bold Full
Head and far above-average definition on the shield and date. The
surfaces reveal few abrasions, and none are particularly
distracting. A warm golden overlay of toning softens the eye
appeal. Seldom is such an example seen in any grade. Population: 23
in 64 (2 in 64+) Full Head, 15 finer (6/15).(Registry values: N4719)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 243C, PCGS# 5731, Greysheet# 5578)
