Description

Bright 1919-D MS64 Full Head Quarter

1919-D 25C MS64 Full Head PCGS. The 1919-D is among the most elusive of the Standing Liberty quarter series in Full Head. J.H. Cline (2007) estimates that 1% of the 1.944 million-piece mintage was struck with Full Head details. The above-average strike delivered on this near-Gem example resulted not only in fullness on the head but crispness on the chain mail and stripes of the inner shield. The rivets near Liberty's hip are weak, but the remaining ones are strong, as are the date digits. Bright luster embraces both sides, each of which is color free and minimally marked. Overall, a very appealing example of this key date in the series and one that will be greatly prized by the new owner. Population: 21 in 64 Full Head, 14 finer (9/09).(Registry values: N4719)
