Description
1919-D Quarter, MS65 Full Head
Important Condition and Strike Rarity
1919-D 25C MS65 Full Head PCGS. The surfaces are frosty
silver-white save for the most subliminal hints of pale rose. A few
minuscule marks on Liberty's torso are undistracting and fail to
detract at all from the bold eye appeal. The no-questions Full Head
strike extends further to the chain mail and the shield rivets. The
reverse is relatively mark-free, and both sides display ample
luster and top-shelf eye appeal. The 1919-D Standing Liberty
quarter issue is notoriously difficult to find in Gem Full Head
grade, where PCGS has seen only 11 submissions (one MS65+) and
seven finer (11/15). The last example in this grade that we offered
was the Gene Gardner coin in our Gardner Part I Signature
(Heritage, 6/2014), lot 30453, a similar-appearing piece that
brought $42,594.(Registry values: N4719)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 243C, PCGS# 5731, Greysheet# 5578)
