Description

1919-D Quarter, Radiant MS65
Rare in This Grade With CAC Approval

1919-D 25C MS65 PCGS. CAC. Radiant luster emanates from the silvery surfaces of this D-mint Gem that displays hints of light brown color at the borders. Liberty's head exhibits considerable flatness, a typical characteristic of the issue. Indeed, Cline (2007) wrote that only one percent of this date was likely struck with a full head -- an estimate that, while not provable, speaks to the elusiveness of Full Head survivors. The chain mail and vertical stripes in the inner shield are quite strong, however. A die crack runs through the top of the date. Population: 63 in 65 (3 in 65+), 46 finer. CAC: 15 in 65, 11 finer (11/24).
