Description

Sharp 1919-S Quarter, MS67

1919-S 25C MS67 NGC. The 1919-S is one of the key coins in the Standing Liberty quarter series, and is also one of the dates that is almost never fully struck. In this regard, Standing Liberty quarter specialist J.H. Cline estimates that only two percent are struck with Full Heads.
This Superb Gem, while showing less than full definition on Liberty's head, displays crisp detail on most of the other elements, including the chain mail, gown lines, inner shield, date, and eagle's wing feathers. All the rivets on the outer shield show, though a couple near the abdomen are weak. Lustrous surfaces display whispers of reddish-gold toning, and are well preserved. Census: 3 in 67, 0 finer (11/08).
