Description
1919-S Quarter, Beautifully Toned MS67
The Sole Finest Non-Full Head at PCGS
1919-S 25C MS67 PCGS. This is arguably the finest non-Full
Head 1919-S quarter that we have ever offered, and it is the single
finest certified by PCGS. NGC lists three coins numerically equal
to this piece, also with none finer (6/16). Glimmering mint luster
appears unblemished, and the strike is above-average for a non-Full
Head 1919-S. Liberty's head is a trifle soft at the temple, but the
shield and other central high points are remarkably sharp. The
pastel toning on this coin is itself an eye-catcher. Blended
lavender and ice-blue form a delicate swath across the central
obverse and over the lower reverse, while much of the remainder of
each side is champagne-gold. A ribbon of lemon-yellow stretches
across the upper-right obverse rim. This magnificent coin is plated
on PCGS CoinFacts, and is without a doubt the finest quality
available of this date without the Full Head designation. A strong
bid will not be poorly placed.(Registry values: N4719)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 243D, PCGS# 5732, Greysheet# 5579)
