Description

1920-D Quarter, MS65 Full Head
Exceptionally Well Struck

1920-D 25C MS65 Full Head PCGS. Ex: Nevada. The 1920-D is among the more challenging Denver issues in the Standing Liberty quarter series to acquire in high grade Full Head, with such coins being scarce in MS65 and rare finer. The present coin stands out from its peers in many regards, though chiefly with regards to its strike; bold date numerals, prominent shield rivets and inner lines, and a well-defined leading edge on the eagle's left (facing) wing are impressive, while Liberty's head shows a full hairline. The coin also lacks clash marks and die lapping, with its vibrant luster unhindered beneath a veil of light golden toning. That's not to say this is an early die state coin, as a loupe reveal minute, spindly die cracks in the peripheries on each side. Population: 41 in 65 (1 in 65+) Full Head, 23 finer (9/24).(Registry values: N2998)
