Description

1923 Quarter, Frosty MS67 Full Head
Remarkable Strike and Preservation

1923 25C MS67 Full Head PCGS. The frosty, silver-white surfaces of this Superb Gem Full Head quarter are completely untoned and beaming with stunning, intensely high eye appeal. Most pre-1925 Standing Liberty quarters -- the year in which the date was finally recessed on the pedestal to prevent it from wearing off so quickly -- show some greater or lesser degree of strike weakness on the date, often on the 1 or on the tops of some digits. Not so this coin, which boasts, remarkably, an absolutely full date, appearing to be a post-1925 quarter. The strike throughout both sides is near-impeccable, in fact, including all shield rivets (save one) and full separation at the hair and forehead in addition to a strong earhole and three olive leaves. One or two trivial ticks show on the reverse. Population: 6 in 67 Full Head, 0 finer (8/16).(Registry values: N4719)
