Description

Sharp 1923-S Standing Quarter, MS64 Full Head

1923-S 25C MS64 Full Head NGC. The 1923-S is an important key date in the Standing Liberty quarter series. MS65 Full Head examples are scarce (J.H. Cline, 2007), and even near-Gem Full Heads, such as the piece in the current lot, are tough to locate. Whispers of copper-gold color are scattered about, concentrating at the borders, and dazzling luster exudes from both sides. An attentive strike transcends Liberty's Full Head to brings out sharp definition in the other design elements, including the chain mail, the inner shield, and all but two of the rivets. Close scrutiny reveals no significant marks.(Registry values: N1793)
