Description

1923-S Quarter, MS65+
Exceptional Two-Sided Toning

1923-S 25C MS65+ PCGS. Throughout the series, the Standing Liberty quarters are challenging to find with lustrous, attractive toning. The scarce 1923-S is especially so. This example is a stunning exception, where rainbow toning visits both sides complemented by penetrating mint luster. The deepest shades are reserved for the border, which display cyan-blue, ruby-red, and lime-green colors over rich, ivory-gold luster. The reverse is iridescent, where lilac, pink, and sea-green hues meld over the satiny silver surfaces. The strike is sharp for the issue -- not quite a Full Head, but close enough for the facial features to be discerned. The shield shows minor central blending of detail. A high-end Gem, sure to be of keen interest to any Standing Liberty specialist. Population: 3 in 65+, 38 finer (5/15).(Registry values: N1793)
