Description

1923-S Quarter, MS65
Satiny With a Hint of Toning

1923-S 25C MS65 PCGS. An exceptionally well struck example for a non-Full Head piece, showing nearly Full Head sharpness as well as a strong date. The shield rivets show weakness per usual. Light olive-gold toning tinges the borders. This San Francisco issue comes from a limited mintage of 1.36 million pieces, and much of the coinage was lost to circulation due to the rapidly wearing elevated date. Gem Mint State coins are always in demand.(Registry values: N1793)
