Description

1923-S Quarter Dollar, MS65
Exceptional and Lustrous

1923-S 25C MS65 PCGS. This low-mintage, semikey-date branch mint quarter is minimally toned aside from an arc of autumn-russet along the upper obverse margin and a few slivers of the same from the lower borders. Elsewhere the luster is ivory. The lustrous fields and devices exhibit only unimportant contact, with a few tiny marks on Liberty's leg being all that deny an even finer grade. Advanced specialists will appreciate the bold date and stars, as well as the shield lines. The rivets are slightly weak as expected, and Liberty's head is just shy of qualifying for a Full Head designation. Finer non-Full Head pieces are scarce.
