Description
Remarkable 1923-S Key Date Gem Quarter
1923-S 25C MS65 PCGS. Coruscating luster jumps out at the observer of this MS65 key date quarter. Coupled with the superior luster is the crispness of strike, evident, for example, on the inner shield where both sets of stripes are delineated, on the gown lines, and the date and mintmark. While Liberty's head is not full, it still displays strong definition. Occasional wisps of light tan color are seen under magnification. Both sides are impeccably preserved; indeed, this piece reveals fewer marks than what would be expected for the grade designation. This is a must-see coin for the Standing Liberty aficionado. Population: 82 in 65, 28 finer (11/07).(Registry values: N1793)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 243K, PCGS# 5744, Greysheet# 5585)
