Description

Full Head 1923-S Quarter, MS66
Remarkable Strike and Overall Preservation

1923-S 25C MS66 Full Head PCGS. The 1923-S has long been considered a key to the Standing Liberty quarter series. It is often favorably compared to the higher visibility 1921, and it is just a bit less rare than that date. This is a splendidly preserved example that has lovely rose-violet toning interspersed with lilac with thick underlying mint frost. The head detail is remarkably strong, and there is just one rivet on the shield that is soft. The surfaces are exceptionally clean on each side. Population: 30 in 66 Full Head, 4 finer (2/10).(Registry values: N2998)
