Description
1923-S Quarter, MS67
Among the Finest Non-Full Head
1923-S 25C MS67 NGC. This coin is one of the most carefully
preserved survivors of the key-date 1923-S quarter whose smooth,
scintillating surfaces are comfortably at home at the Superb Gem
grade level. Swirling cartwheel visual effects are evident from the
frosty textured finish. The strike, while a little soft over
Liberty's head, the shield, and the eagle's breast, is appreciably
sharp in all other areas. A dusting of golden-gray iridescence
overlays both sides and yields to light, mottled, russet tinged
shadings in a few areas. Census: 4 in 67, 0 finer (3/15).Ex: Long Beach Signature (Heritage, 6/2001), lot 8236; FUN Signature (Heritage, 1/2003), lot 6897.(Registry values: N2998)
