Description

1924-D Quarter, MS66 Full Head
Uncharacteristically Sharp

1924-D 25C MS66 Full Head PCGS. CAC. The 1924-D quarter is typically quite poorly struck, with little to no head detail, several missing shield rivets, and profound flatness on the upper half of the date due to a excessive die wear. The importance of this offering to the advanced specialist, therefore, cannot be overstated. Liberty's head and the date numerals are bold, and the shield is far above-average, with rivets 3 and 4 weak, but present. The stars are also sharp and the eagle's feathers show better definition than is typically seen. Traces of light golden color grace otherwise brilliant, satiny surfaces. Numerous peripheral die cracks are observed on each side, not uncommon for the issue. PCGS Population: 28 in 66 (2 in 66+), 3 finer (3/26).
