Description

Rare 1924-D Quarter, MS66 Full Head

1924-D 25C MS66 Full Head PCGS. An incredible example, the 1924-D is one of the most difficult Standing Liberty quarters to find with full head details. The typical example has the head almost entirely flat. Noted Standing Liberty quarter authority Jay Cline writes that "there are some screamers out there in MS65 FH and MS66 FH with strong dates, but it takes a lot of shoe leather to find them." According to Cline, examples must have a full, strong date to qualify as MS65 or finer. This example qualifies! The only weakness evident is three of the shield rivets, and even those are still faintly visible. Population: 14 in 66, 1 finer (8/07).(Registry values: N4719)
