Description

1926-D Quarter, MS65 Full Head
One of the Keys to the Full Head Series

1926-D 25C MS65 Full Head PCGS. Only 1.7 million pieces of the 1926-D quarter were struck. Although Mint State examples are not rare, almost all of those coins lack full definition on the head of Liberty. The present specimen is a fortunate exception. The three sprigs of greenery are present; Liberty's forehead hair is fully rounded. Cartwheel luster rolls across the unmarked surfaces, originally toned in aqua, lilac, and pearl-gray. Collectors of Full Head quarters know that the 1926-D poses a formidable obstacle to such a collection and opportunities to acquire an example are infrequent. Population: 19 in 65 Full Head, 11 finer (11/13).
