Description

1927-D Quarter Dollar, MS66 Full Head
A Significant Strike Rarity
None Finer at PCGS

1927-D 25C MS66 Full Head PCGS Secure. Ex: Just Havin Fun. The 1927-D Standing Liberty quarter, coming from a mintage approaching one million pieces, is a strike rarity and, as might be expected, is seldom seen with full head details. J.H. Cline estimates that only about three percent are struck with Full Heads.

The silvery surfaces display strong mint luster, and except for the Full Head are typically struck. The chain mail, date, and mintmark are strong, as are all rivets except for the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th. The inner shield exhibits the always seen weakness. Both sides are very nicely preserved. An unobtrusive linear mark concealed in the right (facing) wing will help pedigree the coin. Population: 14 in 66 Full Head, 0 finer (8/13).(Registry values: N2998)
