Description
1927-S AU 55 NGC. In this grade, the 1927-S ranks as one of the top three keys of the series, behind only the exalted 1916 and 1918/7-S issues. This date is also a perfect example of a condition rarity; in other words, a coin that is common and inexpensive in lower grades, but becomes rare and expensive in higher grades. The example we offer here is fully lustrous and shows only slight wear on the highest points. An important coin for the specialist in this series.
