Description

Superb 1927-S Quarter, MS 66

1927-S MS 66 PCGS. A hint of milky patina is lightly accented at the borders with some soft russet color on on this important gem 1927-S quarter. Both sides display a strike that is slightly above average, with only slight weakness on Liberty's head, the rivets of the shield, and the eagle's body on the reverse. Other important details, such as the date and mint mark are well struck up and all of the edge ornaments on the obverse are bold. This is one of only 11 coins at this level (5/96), with only 2 finer. With a Full Head, only one 1927-S quarter has earned the PCGS MS 66 designation and none have been graded higher. This important coin will be a highlight of any advanced collection of this lovely series.
