Description

1928-D Quarter, MS66 Full Head
A Rare Date This Well-Preserved

1928-D 25C MS66 Full Head PCGS. CAC. The strike sharpness of this scarcer D-mint quarter is uncharacteristically bold, narrowly missing full definition on the shield rivets but showing sharp vertical lines on the inner shield, a bold Full Head on Liberty, and well-defined breast feathers on the eagle. A light coat of golden toning is seen on each side. Essentially mark-free, just a couple of tiny abrasions are seen in the reverse field. Population: 18 in 66 (2 in 66+) Full Head, 3 finer. CAC: 8 in 66, 2 finer (10/16).
Ex: Long Beach Signature (Heritage, 6/2005), lot 6127; Central States Signature (Heritage, 5/2007), lot 593.
