Description

1928-D Quarter, MS67+ Full Head
Finest Example We Have Offered

1928-D 25C MS67+ Full Head NGC. CAC. Little stands out about the 1928-D production total of 1.6 million coins. Specialists will acknowledge, however, that the issue is a semikey strike rarity with Full Head definition. The late J.H. Cline wrote in the fourth edition of his reference on the series: "Full Heads of this date are easily worth more than ten times flat head prices, or even more if the piece is outstanding." Such is the case with this MS67+ Full Head quarter. Satiny luster flows over brilliant surfaces virtually devoid of imperfection. A bold impression shows strong vertical shield lines and chainmail. The all-important temple is clear with three olive leaves. This is the finest example we have offered, according to our Permanent Auction Archives established in 1993. Census: 2 in 67 (1 in 67+) Full Head, 0 finer (6/16).(Registry values: N4719)
