Description

1928-D 25C MS67 NGC. The 1928-D is only marginally scarce in MS66, but it becomes a major rarity at the MS67 grade level. Nonetheless, coins in this condition are often overlooked due to a greater focus on the rarer Full Head pieces, which are often sought for Registry Sets. Non-Full Head coins in MS67 are underappreciated. This example is vibrantly lustrous and untoned, showing the usual touch of strike weakness on Liberty's head and the shield rivets. Eye appeal is outstanding for this issue, which seldom comes visually pleasing. Census: 9 in 67, 0 finer (4/19).(Registry values: N2998)
